We would normally expect lots of rain in April along with rising temperatures, however there has been no significant rainfall recently and none due in the next couple if weeks. Plus night temperatures are still very low.
If you are thinking of direct sowing, it may be worthwhile holding on until things change. There’s still plenty of growing time left.
