We are currently experiencing the third heatwave of the year and as such the allotment is very dry in places. As such, please be aware of any potential fire hazards on your plot.
Having a bonfire or burning rubbish even using an incinerator in your garden or elsewhere (eg:on allotment) can be extremely dangerous in dry conditions. They can quickly get out of control and spread to nearby property, fencing, vegetation, grass and overhanging trees.
Do not leave any glass bottles laying on plots when we have heatwaves as these can also cause a fire by igniting dried grass.
Do not light naked flames or have BBQs please.
